Fire Hero Learning Network Reaches New Milestone

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) is excited to announce that the Foundation’s online learning platform, the Fire Hero Learning Network (FHLN), has reached a milestone of over 130,000 registered users.

The NFFF provides this training as part of its comprehensive Everyone Goes Home® program to reduce preventable line of duty deaths. The training is free, vetted, and appropriate for all members of the fire service. Critical safety, operations, and community risk reduction training, applicable to the line firefighter through the command and leadership levels, are available on the FHLN. In addition, the modules are appropriate for all staffing characteristics (career, volunteer, and combination), and all disciplines of firefighting (i.e., public, private, structural, vehicle, wildland, military, transportation authority, State Fire Marshal, special squad, and academia). Available interactive training resources on FHLN include: thought-provoking modules, real world operational checklists, fire attack scenarios, and podcasts. Incorporating the FHLN into your department’s risk dominance training will provide key elements to making your personnel more resilient and better prepared to recognize career altering situations and deal with the trauma of a line of duty death.

The NFFF looks forward to the continued success of the FHLN and additional new content that will expand the platform’s value to users. Visit www.fireherolearningnetwork.com to check out the platform. Register immediately to access any of the 14 free, high quality, online training modules and the rest of the content. Each module takes less than an hour to complete. Modules cover the Foundation’s key initiatives, including Courage to be Safe® and Taking Care of Our Own®, as well as hot topics including, Responding to Violent Incidents, Stress First Aid for Fire and EMS Personnel, and Leadership, Accountability, Culture and Knowledge.
