2013 International Fire/EMS Safety and Health Week

Saving Our Own...An Inside Job

The 2013 International Fire/EMS Safety and Health Week (June 16-22) supports Life Safety Initiative #13: Firefighters and their families must have access to counseling and psychological support. The NFFF offers three courses in support of behavioral health. After Action Review is a free web-based training course that formalizes the tradition of informal post-incident conversations. Curbside Manner: Stress First Aid for the Street is a free web-based training course teaching a set of proven principles and actions that help first responders assist the public during a crisis. The principles in Curbside Manner are also reviewed in the Stress First Aid for Fire and EMS Personnel course which is focused on the behavioral health of first responders. For more information on any of these courses, please contact Amy Tippett at 703-201-1238.
