Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives Team Honors Cygnus Business Media at Firehouse Expo

Cygnus Business Media was awarded the Seal of Excellence Award at Firehouse Expo – Baltimore, at the Opening Ceremony Thursday morning, July 28, 2006. Chief Ronald J. Siarnicki, Executive Director, National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, presented the Seal of Excellence Award to Firehouse® Magazine, Firehouse Expositions, and Firehouse.com in recognition of the support Cygnus has provided to the promotion of the Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives Program and for joining our mission so Everyone Goes Home. The purpose of the Seal of Excellence program is to recognize individuals, fire departments, and other organizations who have taken the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives/ Everyone Goes Home Program to the next level – that of implementation. It is a way to show appreciation and recognize those individuals or organizations that are making a difference.

Chief Siarnicki and Chief Richard R. Anderson, program director for the Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives Program, conducted a presentation on the Firefighter Life Safety Resource Training Kits. The class was well attended and provided participants with a preview of the motivational interviews along with insight and instruction on the resources available within the kits. The class also served as a forum for discussion on life safety issues where ideas were shared for the promotion of a safer fire service culture.
